The CUT Hotel School is inviting everybody with a love for food and beer to come and join in an evening filled with lots of fun and laughter during its Beer and Food Affair.
Craft beer is a popular trend these days and pairing that with good food, fun, entertainment and laughter is surely an event not to be missed. Joining forces with other CUT departments, CAFSaB and CUTis really will make the event a must-attend on everybody’s social calendar.
The selection of the beer and food is based on the CUT Hotel School’s third-year students who hosted three beer and food pairing evenings on a smaller scale that took place as part of their final year assessment.
During these events the chef, food and beverage lecturer and craft beer brewer evaluated and selected the best dishes to ultimately create a show-stopping menu for the final big event taking place on Thursday 31 May 2018.
These food items will be presented in the form of a journey menu and will each be paired with a specific craft beer, while the brewer, Dr Jasiu Lewtak, will enlighten the audience about the various styles and characteristics of beer while the chef will highlight the food notes to complement this.
This will be an evening of no sipping, you have to take a mouthful, let it stay, and then swallow the whole lot!
The Beer and Food Affair will take place on 31 May in the CUT Hotel School Atrium and will start at 18:00. Tickets cost R300 per person. For ticket sales, feel free to contact Jaydee Snyman at 051-507-4034 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
