The Central University of Technology Ixias and Toyota Cheetahs outside-back, Cohen Jasper, has a brand-new set of wheels after being named as the player of the tournament during the recently concluded 2021 Varsity Cup.

The fleet-footed player received the prestigious accolade for his ability on the attack in the tournament and no one will forget his match-winning try on the stroke of full time while earned his team a first-ever win over the five-time champions, Maties.

Jasper thanked his teammates, who played a big part in his outstanding season.
The reward for his outstanding campaign was a brand-new Toyota Urban Cruiser, which is his for life.

“It’s a very big privilege to win such a big prize. In the beginning I didn’t think that I would win it, but I set myself goals to perform in the Varsity Cup and on a personal note it was a very good season, thanks to my teammates, who helped through the season, game after game. To win a car like this is amazing and I couldn’t have asked for anything better.”

Jasper’s form was rewarded even more when he was chosen to play for the Toyota Invitational XV team, which beat the Cheetahs 43-35 on Saturday at the Toyota Stadium. It will come as no surprise if he plays for the Cheetahs against the EP Elephants this weekend. – MORGAN PIEK
