Upcoming Bloemfontein rapper and singer, Jameel Abdool, has recently hit the big leagues as he teamed up with well-known SA rapper, Emtee and Skatta, for his new single, titled “Ride It”.
The song was released on 26 March 2021 and according to Abdool, the message behind the song is appreciation given to your significant other. “Although I don’t have one, I just wanted to create a song you would enjoy with your partner in different types of environments, whether it be at a night club or a late night drive home.”
The 25-year-old musician said that the Hip-Hop/R&B song is a general song, which can be enjoyed by anyone. Featured in the song is SA rapper Emtee, who is best known for his debut hit single, “Roll Up”.
According to Abdool, working with Emtee has been nothing but a privilege. “These are artists who are associated with different great artists, such as Wizkid for example. To be part of such an association, even indirectly, is a privilege. I am honestly honoured. The fact that the song was good enough to be considered by an artist such as Emtee to be part of it, provides me with so much indication that timing is everything and the song has the potential to do well nationally, for which I’m hoping,” said Abdool.
This is his first single as an individual artist and he is now focused on submitting the song to relevant radio stations in the hopes for a music video to be shot.
“I’d just like to express my gratitude to my friends and family who’ve supported this track from where it started up to where it is now. I appreciate anyone who will support this song in the near future and give it a chance to do well at national level. Every download and play is important to me and the song,” he concluded.
“Ride It” is available on YouTube Music, Apple Music, iTunes and Spotify.
