The Interdenominational Church Choral Competition started last year as a pilot program as initiated by the MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Mr. D.A.M. Kgothule. This program attracted many choirs in the Mangaung District, and it became clear that there is a big need for choirs to perform.
The Department again this year will host the Provincial Interdenominational Choral Competition in Bloemfontein. Last year, more than 40 choirs participated in this competition and again this year choirs are registering in big numbers.
All Church Choirs and Churches are invited to this competition to either take part or support. We would also request all supporting churches to come dressed in the colors of the respective choir to be supported to show loyalty and solidarity.
Choirs will be competing for the following prizes:
Male Section Winner: R5,000.00
Female Section Winner: R5,000.00
Development Section Winner: R8,000.00
Standard Section Winner: R10,000.00
Large Section Winner: R8,000.00
