The vaccination of correctional services officials and inmates is set to be escalated on Monday.
OFM News reports, this, as the Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Ronald Lamola, launches the Covid-19 vaccination programme for the department. Lamola in a statement confirms the vaccination of officials started last week, but that of inmates only starts today.
He says this will take place at 90 approved vaccination sites in Correctional Centres across the country.
Whilst vaccination against the Coronavirus remains voluntary, Lamola highlights that the vaccination of all prisoners and officials will curb the spread of the virus in correctional facilities as well as to the broader society. T
he Free State Health Department has meanwhile indicated that the provincial launch of the vaccination of Correctional Services officials and inmates in the province will take place on Tuesday.
