A 36-year-old man was arrested by Trompsburg police for the alleged murder of his wife.
According to police spokesperson, Mahlomola Kareli, the Trompsburg police were summoned to a house in Madikgetla on a report of an assault on 1 June 2024 at around 18:20.
“On arrival at the scene, members found the emergency medical personnel already busy with a 35-year-old woman who was lying on the bed. The female victim was declared dead by the first responders at the scene,” said Kareli.
He added that preliminary investigations revealed that the couple was allegedly seen fighting before police and paramedics were called. The deceased had a swollen face and was bleeding.
“Circumstances that led to the fight are part of the investigation. The 36-year-old husband was arrested and he will appear in court soon. Investigations continue.”
