Husband and wife arrested for possession of dagga


On Sunday 21 June 2015 whilst the Trompsburg Cluster Highway Patrol unit was busy with the normal stop and search duties on the N1 near Trompsburg when they stopped a Toyota vehicle with two occupants.

The police officers on duty, Constable April Booysen, Warrant Office Mohlouwa Mahlatsi and Roelf Visser, stopped the vehicle and requested to search it. Upon searching it police discovered five black plastics bag full dagga.

The two suspects a husband (64) and wife (48) were arrested and charged with being in possession of dagga, the two are expected to appear before the Trompsburg Magistrate’s court soon.

The confiscated dagga weighs about 106 kilogram and the estimated street value could be about R150,000.

The Cluster Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ngoma Guma applauded the members for the good work.
