Police are looking for two suspects in connection with house robbery and the murder of a 48-year-old taxi owner in Bloemspruit, Bloemfontein.

Police spokesperson Maselela Langa says two men visited the 48-year-old women at her house in Bloemside Phase 10, Bloemspruit, on Wednesday. He says one of the suspects allegedly pulled out a gun and ordered the woman and her children to remain silent. They stole two cellphones and a total of R1300-00 in cash.

Langa says they shot the mother, while her children were in another room. She later died at the scene. The robbers then fled and are still wanted by the police.

The victim’s name has not yet been released as her next of kin still need to be informed and the children need to be protected from further trauma.
