Homeless man dies on street corner

Duane Petrus – A homeless person has collapsed and died this morning at the corner of Nelson Mandela and Second Avenue in Bloemfontein. Herman Germishuizen, a bystander, says he was with the deceased just before 07:00. According to paramedics, he could have passed away due to a heart attack. Germishuizen says he has known the man for about 3 years and says the deceased is from the East Rand in Gauteng. "He came across the road this morning and complained that he was not feeling very well and I went to the bank nearby to get him some water. Shortly thereafter we went to the other side of the road and just collapsed," says Germishuizen. Germishuizen says he immediately got hold of someone to phone the paramedics thereafter.
