Natasja King and Cassandra Taylor’s paths crossed when the dynamic duo were on holiday. Cassandra contacted Natasja with the hope that they could collaborate to give a Yin Yoga & Reiki Class experience in the Western Cape, while she was on holiday.
Through a series of events and changes in plans, Cassandra ended up attending Natasja’s Reiki Level 1 course instead. This was the start of what has turned Natasja and Cassandra into a powerful duo and the best of friends.
King and Taylor decided to unite their skills by offering both Yoga and Reiki as well as sound healing, using Tibetan singing bowls. “The various sessions were transformative and deeply healing for all of the participants,” mentioned the duo.
A Yoga & Reiki experience can serve as a complementary method of healing, specifically for those who have experienced trauma. Trauma therapy aims to help a person release resistance, painful emotions and negative thought patterns contained in past trauma.

Since Yoga refers to being connected to oneself in this world, it allows the participant to express movement, creativity and meditation while enabling the science of observing and investigating. This helps with self-introspection and healing from within.
By participating in Yin Yoga and Reiki, a traumatic event loses its power and the person becomes whole again.
Both the practices can therefore be used alongside trauma therapy to either prepare a person for trauma therapy or to help them adjust to life after concluding trauma therapy. King and Taylor will be hosting a Ying Yoga and Reiki session on 25 May 2024 at 13 Kenneth Kaunda Road in Bayswater.
The day will start with a Yin Yoga & Reiki session, followed by insightful talks explaining the science and effects of Yin Yoga and Reiki. For bookings, contact Cassandra at yogasteps.sa@gmail.com or Natasja at info@natasjaking.com
