Three suspects who hijacked a man in Haldon Road, Bloemfontein, were chased by police in the direction of Loch Logan Waterfront, where they ran into the basement parking of the mall.
One of the three suspects were apprehended by the mall’s security and handed over to the police. The other two suspects are still at large.
This is according to Marketing Consultant of the Loch Logan Waterfront, Meryl Henning.
This comes after rumours circulating on social media that Dis-Chem or Kloppers had been robbed this afternoon.
Henning told Bloemfontein Courant’s reporters on the scene, Pierce van Heerden and Sazly Hartzenberg, that everything is fine at the mall. “This afternoon, a gentleman was robbed at a small shopping complex in Haldon Road in Wilgehof and hijacked of his car. The police chased the perpetrators into the Waterfront where some of them jumped out of the car. One of the suspects ran through the mall and was caught by our guards just outside the mall.”
The spokesperson of Loch Logan Waterfront, Ricky Ramos, also confirmed that a suspect had been arrested by police and that the crime took place elsewhere. – OFM News
