The South African Heroines Awards had their annual charity drive on 25 August 2021. “The charity drives are held annually through the whole of South Africa.

“We thought it would be wise to celebrate during Women’s Month,” said CarolM Mosiamo, founder and CEO of Heroines Awards Foundation. Although the charity drive is held annually, the organisation ensures that the needs of the orphans are met quarterly.

Mosiamo explained that they have donated sanitary pads, groceries, goodies, toys, pots, urn, cleaning equipment, clothes for the children, school uniforms and school shoes. “The President of awards, together with her team and celebrities from Nigeria visited orphanages in Bloemfontein, including Iphahamiseng Child and Care Centre at Batho Location.”  She added that the child care centre consists of more than 55 children.

One of the challenges the organisation has come across is the need to make a bigger difference at Iphahamiseng Child and Care Centre such as painting the playgrounds, books and shelves for books, school uniforms, regular clothes, cleaning equipment and educational toys.
