Heatwave over today… but

Bloemfontein. – Central South Africans will find some relief from the current heatwave, which is set to end today, but it will not be much cooler than the current temperatures experienced as was the case the past few weeks.

According to forecaster Phemelo Moloabi from the Bloemfontein Weather Office, the temperatures will cool off for the remainder of the week, going into the weekend. She says the threshold values they’re working with for classification of heatwave, will no longer be reached from tomorrow.

"We can expect about two to three degrees cooling in temperatures. That does not mean that it’s going to be colder. It just means it’s still going to remain warm to hot over the central parts of the country and places in the Northern Cape still reaching very hot conditions," Moloabi said.
