Heatherdale School Hall to be officially opened

There is great excitement among learners and teachers alike at Heatherdale Secondary School in Heidedal about the official opening of their newly-built school hall this morning.
Free State Department of Education, Head of the Department, Advocate Tsoarelo Malakoane, is scheduled to open the hall today.
“In the 2017/2018 Budget Speech the department reaffirmed its commitment to ensure that school infrastructure remains a priority,” the departments said in a statement.
The department injected R 7 429 729.92 for the building of the school hall and created employment opportunities for 23 temporary workers for six months.
The schools hall will be used as an examination center, for educational programmes and community’s activities.
Advocate Malakoane advises learners, school governing body, teachers and the community to take care of the school hall.
The school hall seats 1000 learners and has the following facilities: stage, ablution facilities, kitchen, storeroom and changing rooms with showers.
