A head-on collision between two light motor vehicles occurred on the N1 near Verkeerdevlei at 04:52 this morning (5/08).
According to the Free State Department of Health Communications spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi, two males were moderately injured, two are seriously injured as one male had to be extricated by means of ‘jaws of life’, and three males have been declared dead at the scene.
Patients were transported to Pelonomi Trauma Unit & Winburg Hospital by EMS & ER24 rescue teams.
The N1 road is still open for use.
