This spring, the Free State Symphony Orchestra (FSSO) will present the blooming sounds of the ‘Love Italy’ performance at the Sand du Plessis Theatre on 3 September 2022.

Pieces such as Ottorino Resphigi’s Trittico Botticelliano, P.151 (1927), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K.466 (1785), and Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 in A major ‘Italian’, and Op.90 (1833) will be depicted through the strings.

The performance will be led by the Principal Guest Conductor Gérard Korsten and piano soloist Anneke Lamount.

Anneke Lamont is the Head of Piano at the Odeion School of Music at the University of the Free State. She has performed with the Odeion String Quartet and was part of the Kunstefees in Bloemfontein where she played and recorded the Diabelli Variations by Beethoven for KYKnet. She has been involved at the UNISA national and international competitions as accompanist and member of the jury for twenty years.
