The men who assassinated Bloemfontein businessman, Louis Siemens, in May 2018 are apparently still on the run.
This was revealed by prosecutor Advocate Johan de Nysschen today after the arrested suspect, Stanley Bakili, and two police accomplices Const Molebatsi John Mogoera and Const Kagisho Ishael Chabane, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court in Bloemfontein again today.
Although the matter was postponed once again to 26 September, a few new facts were revealed in court.
One of the policeman was allegedly responsible for the hiring of the white Volkswagen Polo that was used as the getaway car after Siemens was shot.
It has also come to light that Bakili no longer has a lawyer that is representing him in the case. He has to get a lawyer in order to proceed with the case as well as with bail applications.
No reasons have been given as to why he no longer has a lawyer. Although Bakili withdrew his bail application previously, he can still re-apply for bail.
There are however more suspects linked to the case which have not yet been arrested.
It was also noticed that a member of the Hawks was present during the court appearance today.
Louis Siemens, managing director of the CityMed Day Hospital was gunned down in the basement parking at Preller Square on 10 May at approximately 15:00. He was declared dead on the scene.
