Gruesome discovery of woman’s body leads to manhunt


The police in Welkom have launched a manhunt following the gruesome discovery of a young woman’s body. The woman’s body was discovered by a passer-by and is believed to be between the ages of 25 and 35 years.

On Sunday, 19 May 2019 at 08:42 the police received a complaint regarding the body of an unknown woman who was found at the open field at the corner of Buren and Ararat Roads in Dagbreek.

The police added that when they arrived at the scene they found that the woman had a knife stuck into her neck and that she had been burnt on her lower body and face. Her breasts were also cut off. The deceased was wearing pink striped track pants.

The motive for the killing is still unknown and no arrests have been made.
