Groote Post Wines will be making a return to Bloemfontein for another exquisite wine tasting and canapé pairing event.

The event will take place at Nebo Venue on 23 February. According to the communications manager of Groote Post, Peter Pentz, following the success of last year’s affair, this year promises to be even more tantalising with an array of delightful wines and delectable bites to indulge in.

“For this tasting we’ll be kicking things off with our Cap Classique Brut Rose followed by our ever-popular Seasalter Sauvignon Blanc.

\We will also be tasting our newly released and very exciting, Pinch of Salt Chardonnay. On the red side of things our Groote Post Merlot and Shiraz will be part of the tasting.

Let’s Crunch will be doing the catering and as always it will be something to look forward to,” said Pentz.

He added that the pairing process is a collaboration between them as the winery and the caterer, Let’s Crunch.

“The secret of a successful pairing is the seamless balancing act between the food and wine and how they enrich and complement each other.

Seasons play a big role in how and when people drink wine. We’re currently mid-summer, so the offering will be skewed towards the white wine side, embracing the summer themes.

The canapés are also inspired by summer,” Pentz explained. Pentz also mentioned their newly released Pinch of Salt will hopefully get audiences excited about Chardonnay.

“And of course, I’ll be telling some new wine stories from the farm and about my life in the wine industry.

I’m really looking forward being back in Bloemfontein and sharing.” The event will start at 18:30 and tickets are priced at R350 per person and can be purchased at Quicket.
