Grey College principal resigns

Deon Scheepers

Deon Scheepers, principal of Grey College Secondary since 2013, will be leaving the school to take up a position as the new principal of Wynberg Boys High School in the Western Cape from January 2022.

His resignation is said to be a huge loss for Grey College. According to information on the school’s Facebook page, during his tenure of nine years he endeavoured that every Grey boy can experience a sense of belonging.

“For the past nine years he has been an influential and visionary leader as the principal of Grey College with a transformational leadership style rooted in strong Christian values. During this time, he has developed and fostered sound and meaningful relationships and partnerships with various stakeholders and alumni within the Grey College school community.

“On the school grounds, in the hostels, at assembly and during academic and non-academic activities, boys from different cultural backgrounds have daily interaction and this ensures respect for one another.  We wish him and his family all the best for this new chapter in their lives,” the school said in a statement.
