A grass fire has broken out in Heuwelsig in Bloemfontein this evening.
As confirmed by Braam van Zyl, Division Officer at the Mangaung Fire and Rescue Department, a grass fire started at Leo van Heever crescent in Heuwelsig. Two vehicles and a crew were dispatched to the scene.
“The fire has proven challenging to extinguish due to the heat wave that has intensified the burn” said van Zyl.
According to Van Zyl, by 20:05 the fire was under control but not fully extinguished. The fire brigade is currently still on the scene.
