Bloemfontein can look forward to a new addition at the Bloem Show this year. It will be a first of its kind as it will focus on promoting a greener lifestyle.
Marie-Louise Smith, one of the organisers of the Go Green Expo, says one of their goals with the expo is to expose the people of Bloemfontein to businesses that offer green services and products locally.
“We want to showcase ways to be water- and energy wise, especially with the ongoing water restrictions in the city and how money can be saved on these services.”
Hardus Engelbrecht, franchise owner of GreenOverall in Bloemfontein, will be one of many organisations that will be showcasing its green eco-friendly products. Engelbrecht says he is excited about the expo. “I am looking forward to the platform it will give me to create awareness about the various ways one can go green at home and at the office.”
He says attendees of the expo can look forward to informative displays on solar geysers as well as grey water systems and rainwater tanks that switch between municipal water supply and tank water supply.
The expo will take place at the expo area during the BloemShow from 27 to 29 April 2017. Adult tickets for the BloemShow are available at Computicket for R80, while pensioners as well as children under 12 will pay R30 and children under 6 years will enter for free.
