The Free State Premier, Sisi Ntombela, and the MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, William Bulwane, will lead the celebration of 100 years of Glen College of Agriculture.
According to a press statement from the Free State Department of Agriculture, the celebration will have 700 guests attending, including Glen College alumni, farmers, students and stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
“Glen College of Agriculture is celebrating 100 years of success, hence the theme ‘The reopening of Glen College of Agriculture in fitness for another 100 years’. The college offers practical agricultural training from NQF1 certificate to NQF6 diploma in agriculture. The college is proud to announce that about 3 132 students have already graduated from the college,” says the department in its statement.
The centenary celebration is scheduled to take place on 26 July 2019 at 09:00 at the Glen College of Agriculture. The celebration will start with a 4 km Centenary Fitness Walk from Modder River to the Glen Campus, which will be followed by the reopening of Glen entrance and a tour of the exhibition stands before the official programme begins.
