In the hopes to send her daughter overseas for treatment, Mandi Venter, the mother of little Kyra Burger, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma stage 4 cancer at only 5 months, is requesting the Bloemfontein community to support their fundraising golf day, which will be held on 31 October 2019 at the Schoemanpark Golf Club from 10:00.

Venter explained to Bloemfontein Courant that they are still in need of sponsors and players for the event. It costs R250 per player which includes a half way snack. To sponsor a hole will cost R2000.

She further said that Kyra went for an MRI scan last week which showed that there are still spots on her liver, fortunately it has not spread. Even though this is not what they were hoping to hear it is still good news for them.

Venter said that Kyra can only be taken overseas once her liver is clean and that she is hoping that once all the treatments are done here in South Africa that they can immediately take her without wasting any time and that is why these fundraisers are so important.

She said that they want to see their child healed and living a normal life. Little Kyra will be receiving more chemotherapy on the 28th of this month.
