Parkweg police have initiated a very extensive look-out of a group of heavily armed who robbed the fuel filling station and made off with a substantial undisclosed amount of cash.

Three men wearing balaclavas allegedly arrived at the fuel filling station in O.R. Tambo Street in Bloemfontein driving a white Toyota sedan without registration numbers in the early hours of Wednesday, 7 December. Two of them were heavily armed with high caliber rifles and one with pistol.

Two of the suspects stood guard outside, pointing firearms at the two petrol attendants who were standing outside and ordered them to drop their cell phones on the ground. One of robbers then proceeded inside the convenient store and allegedly held two cashiers at gunpoint. The suspect allegedly jumped over the counter and blew opened the drop-safe with unknown explosives. Thereafter he took undisclosed amount of cash from the safe.

The robbers later escaped with their get-away car which was parked outside.

No arrests have been made so far and police are continuing with the investigation.

Police requests anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects to contact the Parkweg Police Station at 051-507-6000 or any nearest police station.
