Premier Ace Magashule will be hosting a farewell party for himself.
The Democratic Alliance (DA), Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), as well as the Freedom Front Plus (FF plus) are planning to Boycott Premier Ace Magashule’s State of the Province Address (SOPA) this evening.
DA leader, Roy Jankielsohn, told OFM News that opposition parties in the Free State will not be supporting any attempts Magashule may have to grandstand in the province, and what will end up being a going-away party at the taxpayer’s expense.
“What is going to happen, is Magashule will be hosting a farewell party for himself and the ANC can debate various issues that he raises among themselves and each other,” says Jankielsohn.
He adds that opposition parties are not going to give Magashule the legitimacy as premier which he may like and they will not be supporting the debate that follows.
Jankielsohn says when Magashule was appointed as Secretary General of the ANC, he was appointed in a full-time position at Luthuli House. This is not conducive to his position as Premier of the Free State. He says Magashule is occupying two full-time positions. Jankielsohn says Magashule has a very poor track record in administration within the Free State, with the latest being the controversial Vrede Dairy project.
