FS woman faces culpable homicide charge

32-year-old Novelake Lisbet Smith, will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate Court today for a formal bail application.

She faces a charge of culpable homicide following the death of a local businessman, Ndleleni Donvulo. Smith appeared in court last week Monday, after she handed herself over to police at the Mangaung police station.

She was on the run for several days after she was positively linked to a hit and run in which Donvulo was killed. This allegedly followed an altercation with other patrons at a local pub. She appeared in court the same day at the local magistrate court on said charge and failure to report an accident within 24 hours.

Screenshots of a video that depicted the woman in a red dress were shared on social media with police asking for her whereabouts.

OFM News previously reported that Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele confirmed to OFM that Donvulo was fatally hit by a speeding vehicle outside a pub in Pitso Street, Bochabela, in Mangaung in the early hours of Sunday October 27.
Makehele said the investigation into the mater still continues.
