FS tennis stars to participate in African Junior Championships

Tennis South Africa on Tuesday named three Free State players, in their age groups teams, to participate in the upcoming African Junior Teams Tennis Championships.

Carmen Fichardt, Delien Kleinhans and Joubert Klopper of will represent the province in the boys and girls U/14 and U/16 teams. They will fight it out over five days in Cairo, Egypt from 9 to 13 June against the hosts: Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Nigeria.

South Africa qualified for the Cairo showdown at the Africa Junior Championships held in Tunis, Tunisia in March 2015.

The teams will also be competing for a spot in the World Junior Finals for the U/14 girls and boys, and the boys and girls U/16 will also be competing for a spot in the Junior Davis Cup finals and Junior Fed Cup finals respectively.
