Duane Petrus – Twenty people will appear in court today after it came to light that they were operating a brothel at a tavern in Deneysville in the Free State. Police spokesperson, Peter Kareli, says police have been monitoring the place for over a month. Kareli says they discovered twenty rooms at the back of the tavern which were used for sexual activities. 15 women, believed to be sex workers, three male clients as well as two managers have been arrested. Kareli says this tavern also operated as a strip club and dancing poles are erected inside it. He says most of the women aren’t from the area and admitted they came here willingly from places like Kwa-Zulu natal and Gauteng. "We have still not arrested the owner of the tavern because we are still arresting if the place has one owner or more. We are hoping to make more arrests soon," Kareli says.
