The Free State police has launched a manhunt for three suspects thought be involved in a business robbery at Total filling station next to the Windmill Casino in Pellisier, Bloemfontein this morning at around 08:00.

Police spokesperson, Thabo Covane, told Bloemfontein Courant that the suspects locked the employees in a room and took an undisclosed amount of cash out of the till, fifty packets of cigarette and one of the workers’ mobile phone.

Covane says the suspects then fled the scene in a Grey Toyota Tazz which was seen in the vicinity before the robbery at around 02:50.

He added that when the police were called to the scene an employee reported that three men stormed into the shop at the garage while he and his colleague were sitting behind the counter.

Covane said none of the employees at the filling station was injured and a preliminary investigation was conducted as all specialised units were activated to attend the scene.

“We can confirm that a case of business robbery was opened and registered at the Park Road Police Station,” Covane concluded. – Lucky Nkuyane
