Free State Agriculture MEC Mosebenzi Zwane has quietly been moved to parliament.
According to information received, Zwane was sworn in as a member of parliament this morning.
Zwane was re-appointed as the MEC for agriculture just three months ago. Before that he served as the MEC for small business development, tourism, and economic and environmental affairs.
No official announcement has been made about the move, while opposition parties have criticised the move. DA MPL Roy Jankielsohn says this is not good, since Zwane was appointed as the MEC for agriculture after this important post was vacant for months and he was initially involved in the controversial multi-million rand Vrede Dairy Project.
Free State government spokesperson Mondli Mvambi, did not want to confirm or deny the redeployment.
