FS learners to receive more tablets
Free State Education MEC, Tate Makgoe
The Free State Provincial Government will today hand over tablets to the Mohaladitwe Secondary School learners in Qwaqwa.

The initiative, in collaboration with the Closed-Loop Learner Network (CLN) and OFM News, is part of the department’s vision to improve teaching and learning and enable ICT resources in schools.

The handing over of these OMANG devices to learners comes just days after the provincial Education MEC, Tate Makgoe, tabled his over R14 billion budget for the 2019/20 fiscal year. He outlined that, amongst his key priorities, is to ensure that there is adequate infrastructure at schools, that teachers and learners’ needs are met, there are resources for special needs schools and that safety is prioritised in all schools across the province.

The Free State is amongst the first provinces to hand over the tablets installed with digital textbooks to learners. The initiative was launched by President Cyril Ramaphosa at Charles Mopeli Stadium in QwaQwa in the last quarter.
