FS Home Brew Festival to create opportunities for local artists

With the aim to create an enabling environment for the cultivation of arts and culture programmes within the province, the Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR) will host the 2025 Free State Homebrew Festival from 20-23 February 2025 in Bloemfontein.

According to the department, the festival is a flagship programme in partnership with the national Department of Sport, Arts and Culture. Local artists are granted the opportunity to participate and showcase their work while making an income.

The MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Ntombizanele Sifuba, said this forms part of a commitment made in the maiden Budget Vote Speech in the seventh administration.

“We are on course to ensure that we continuously and consistently implement programmes that fosters social cohesion and nation-building, while also advancing artist development and participation. Through these programmes, we are also on a quest to contribute towards government priorities of economic development and cultural tourism while also celebrating our heritage, culture and traditions.”

Entrance to this event is free.
