FS High Court finds man guilty of murdering wife

The Free State High Court has sentenced thirty one year old, Andries Tabe to 15 years in prison for the murder of his wife.

This is according to police spokesperson in the Free State, Thandi Mbambo, who said that Tabe murdered his spouse on 19 March 2018.

Tabe was arrested last year after he repeatedly assaulted his wife with a broom stick. After the broom broke, he then took a garden spade and continued to assault her with it. The incident is said to have taken place in full view of their two minor children, who also slept in the same bed with their brutally injured mother. She later in the night, died as a result of her injuries.

He was found guilty of murder at the said court last week Wednesday. The investigation officer who had worked on this case, Erick Nkepane, commended the court for the harsh sentence.
