FS Govt will cooperate with any investigations

SABRINA DEAN – The Free state Government says it will cooperate with any investigation by the public protector.
Spokesperson Mondli Mvambi was reacting to a statement by the DA that the Public Protector’s Good governance and Integrity office has confirmed an investigation into Premier Ace Magashule and the FS government website deal.
“The office of the Premier has cooperated before with the Public Protector… This is an institution of governance so we don’t have a problem at all with the Public Protector coming to look into the work of the provincial Government in its totality,” he told Bloemfontein Courant this morning.
Mvambi says the Premier has already initiated an investigation into the value for money aspect of the website deal and is expecting results by June or July.
The DA said it has received a letter from the Public Protector confirming the investigation. DA Free State leader Patricia Kopane says the party requested an Executive Ethics Code investigation into possible violations by Premier Ace Magashule.
“We really welcome the investigation and trust and believe the Public Protector will get to the bottom of this matter,” she said yesterday.
She says by law, investigations conducted under the Executive Ethics Code must be completed within thirty days.
