This comes after staff members complained about salary backlogs and said they had not been paid a salary last month.
Departmental spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says employees who have not yet been remunerated are non-teaching staff who are appointed by the School Governing Body (SGB).
He says the unpaid staff will soon be paid and the department is investigating the matter.
“Those non-teaching staff members are employed by the SGB and not the department, but having said that, as the department we have not yet transferred money to the school and we are trying to fast-track the transfer of money to the school. In that way, we can allow the SGB to pay those officials. We want to take this opportunity to apologise to those officials for any inconvenience that this might have caused.”
