MEC of the Department of Education says what his department needed is not what they received.

Tate Makgoe emphasised that after they had been told about their funding by the treasury department, they had to work within the budget that they were given. Makgoe was speaking after his budget speech address in Bloemfontein this week. He said the department will have to reorganise their organisational structures and review inefficiencies now.

“We have to review inefficiencies in our systems and address some resources so we can tackle some challenges,” he said.

The education department received more than R11 billion of the budget for the new financial year.
