GALOOME SHOPANE Ten inspiring and aspiring dance professionals from the Performing Arts Centre Of the Free State (PACOFS) are set to perform in Harare, Zimbabwe for the Protest Arts International Festival.
Choreographer Reggie Danster says they had to reduce the number of dancers from 21 to ten.
According to Danster this platform will help create opportunities for dancers based in the province, as the province does not any dance companies because of lack of skills development.
Danster says he has a vision that this project will manifest into a proper dance institution for the Free State.
He also says hopefully this opportunity will create “a proper dance school and dance company. And I myself as an artist and choreographer am expecting to grow.”
The trip is co-funded by PACOFS and the festival organisers.
