FS bus crash leaves one dead and 72 injured

One person has died and 72 people got injured in a collision that took place earlier this morning, on the N3 at Cornelia in the Free State Province.

According to Netcare 911 paramedics, reports from the scene indicate that a luxury passenger bus collided into the rear of a truck on the Durban bound lane of the N3. Spokesperson Chris Botha says exact detail to the crash will form part of the South African Police investigation.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the roadway littered with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles. After triaging it was found that one passenger tragically died, two people were critically injured while seventy others sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor,” Botha explains.

Paramedics stabilised the injured at the scene before they transported them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
