FS and NC with highest number of disabled people



Free State and Northern Cape provinces had the highest proportion of persons with disabilities (11%), followed by North West and Eastern Cape at 10% and 9,6% respectively. This is according to Statistics South Africa’s ‘Profile of persons with disabilities in South Africa report’ released today. The report also showed that there is low labour market absorption of persons with disabilities. Employment levels are higher for persons with sight disability compared with other disability types.
