Fruit of the Spirit – Galatians 5 v 22-23.
The seventh fruit is faithfulness. Dependability is one of the first words that come up when you look up the meaning of faithfulness. Who or what do we depend on today? Maybe we depend on money, or even on people. We believe that what others think about us define who we are.
Other meanings are trust and loyalty. In the world we currently live in these two words are very hard to find when it comes to everyday life. What do we do when we are trusted with other people’s personal feelings and emotions? When we are loyal, it means that we portray integrity when it comes to friendship and people. We stand up to defend them when they are not there to defend themselves.
Lastly, faithfulness also means to be devoted, attached and have allegiance. The most important allegiance we could ever have is to our Father who loves us above all else. We should be attached to the One we can depend on at all times, who is trustworthy and loyal, no matter where we are. He is always there, waiting for us to have faith in Him and His love for us.
