Bloemfontein. – Free State residents are being urged to play a part in showcasing the province’s beauty through pictures, in order to promote tourism in central South Africa.

The Free State Tourism Authority yesterday awarded prizes to three Facebook users who submitted photographs demonstrating the province’s beauty. More than one million users have reportedly shared their views on tourism-related issues on the “I Love Free State” Facebook page since its launch a year ago.

Aleta Wales won the second prize of R3 000 with a landscape photo taken in the Verkykerskop area near Warden. Sean Konig and Lillian Arnold won the first and third prizes respectively.
