A Free State man’s reign of terror came to an end after being sentenced to life imprisonment in the Bloemfontein High Court yesterday.
The 36-year-old Malefetsane Edwin Molise, better known as Khuze, faced more than 20 charges including multiple murders, the possession of drugs, a car hijacking and an armed robbery.
Malefetsane was acquitted on 12 charges after the state could not prove its case. He was sentenced to two life terms including 15 years for 3 murders, 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances, 8 years for a motor vehicle theft, 7 years for the illegal possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and 5 years for house breaking. The other sentences will run concurrently with the three murders.
Malefetsane’s reign of terror began in 2000, while he was still in high school, after he allegedly hacked and murdered a man with a panga. – Molebogeng Malebo
