The Free State Gospel Music Awards (Freegosma’s), established in 2021, are celebrating excellence in gospel for four years and the awards are looking forward to this year’s award ceremony.
Founded by Dups Tee Foundation’s CEO, Medupi Molotsi, who was inspired by the Mpumalanga Gospel Music Awards, Freegosma is focused more on uplifting the Free State province by bringing gospel music awards into manifestation as well as promoting and celebrating the talent in this community through recognising and awarding artists who exhibit excellence.
Molotsi launched the concept and even had keynote speakers such as award-winning gospel singer, Zanele Mbokazi, Ayanda Ncwane, and TV personality, Thabang Mnisi. The same names were also used to give endorsements to these awards.
“Freegosmas are by no means a competition, but an event to recognise and honour talented and hardworking gospel artists in the Free State Province. The intention is to prepare them for national music platforms,” Molotsi mentioned.
The Freegosma panel is anticipating receiving over 100 nominations from across the province that will represent various genres and styles of gospel music.
The Free State Gospel Music Awards 2024 will take place on 2 November 2024 at the Bloemfontein City Hall, next to the Glass Palace.
“Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce that under Freegosma’s platform we are recording a high-quality live recording DVD named Free State praise and worship explosion,” announced Molotsi.
The nominations for the Free State Gospel Music Awards remain open until 26 July 2024. The nomination announcement will take place on 3 August 2024.
