Free State fashion at its best

Fashion showcase on the Free State Fashion Week runway.

Fashionistas will converge at the Sun Windmill Conference Centre to witness Free State fashion at its best. The 2018 Free State Fashion Week (FSFW) is just days away and the excitement for it is already mounting.
The glamourous fashion and lifestyle event provides a platform for budding and established designers from the Free State province and other parts of South Africa to showcase their creations. This year’s FSFW theme is “Reimagine” and designers will have to produce work that incorporates South Africa’s rich heritage while sticking to this season’s trends and standards. Popular TV presenter, Ayanda Makuzeni, will be the host of this year’s Free State Fashion Week.
The fashion affair will be preceded by the Arts and Craft Pop-up exhibition, which started on the 18th and will end on 23 September. The Pop-up exhibition will be housed in Mimosa Mall. It will give designers the opportunity to display their work at their respective stalls during the six days. Mimosa Mall shoppers will be able to view the creations to get a taste of the trendy and creative fashion items that the talented designers have put a lot of effort in creating. The exhibition will run concurrently with the fashion shows taking place from 20-22 September.
Another element of the fashion festivities is the Face of Free State Fashion Week event, which will also take place at the Sun Windmill Conference Centre. 2017s Face of FSFW title holder, Caitlyn Rockman, will be handing over the reins to this year’s ambassador who will be chosen at the event. The Face of FSFW will also take place from 20-22 September.
