The Free State Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, has extended her congratulations to the outstanding individuals acknowledged at the 9th Annual Excellence Awards.
Held in Midrand on Friday 16 February, the awards celebrated exceptional performance and recognised an unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of service and professionalism within the South African Police Service.
Lieutenant Colonel Junior Santi of the Tactical Response Unit in Bloemfontein not only secured the title of High Risk Member of the Year (Level 8 – 12) but also received the prestigious Laureate Award, which includes a new vehicle.
Constable Mathaha Lekhooa from the Navalsig Detectives not only triumphed in the Police Minister’s Special Award category but also earned the rank of Warrant Officer. His recognition stems from his diligent investigative work in a high-profile case.
Captain Pieter Drury of the Bloemfontein POP Unit claimed victory in the Medium Risk Member of the Year (Level 8 – 12) category.
Captain Drury serves as the operational commander at the illicit mining operation in the province, named “Knock Out”.
Through his meticulous planning and leadership of the personnel under his command, the operation successfully apprehended 1936 suspects in 892 reported cases.
Lieutenant General Motswenyane extended her congratulations, saying: “We are immensely proud of their achievements and the positive impact they have made within our community. Their unwavering dedication to duty serves as an inspiration to their colleagues and reflects the spirit of excellence that defines our organisation.”
She went on to say, “On behalf of the entire Free State SAPS, I commend each award recipient for their exceptional contributions and extend our deepest gratitude for their continued service and commitment to public safety.
Congratulations once again to all the winners. Your accomplishments are truly deserving of this recognition.”
