Free State Education to focus on English as a subject



Improving the school subject English is one of the major goals that the Free State Department of Education hope to achieve this year. MEC Tate Makgoe told Bloemfontein Courant telephonically during his visit to the Cedar School in Zamdela in Sasolburg that the department will have to up its approach to English as a subject because it is very important for further learning. He added that performance in mathematics, science and accounting also needs to improve.
Makgoe said the department will continue to focus on grades three, six, nine ten and twelve.

He visited schools in Sasolburg today to establish the readiness on the first day of the re-opening of schools.
