Free State ANC has filed affidavits in the Constitutional Court to defend the validity of the Parys provincial conference held in June. The Constitutional court decided last week to hear the merits of the case brought by six disgruntled ANC members in the Free State.

The matter was previously dismissed by the high court on technicalities. The members want the elective conference to be set aside and an interim provincial committee be appointed. One of the six applicants Mpho Ramakatsa says they are prepared for the case tomorrow.

He added that they will finally have their day in court to defend the soul of the ANC. Ramakatsa says even though court papers cite six applicants they have a lot of support among ANC members in the Free State. He says five thousand people have signed a petition in support of their action.
