The ANC in the Free State announced its first step towards a provincial cabinet reshuffling today (Wednesday). Provincial Secretary of the ANC in the province, William Bulwane, announced a new addition to its membership in the provincial legislature. The Speaker of Lejweleputswa District Municipality, Kenalemang Phukuntsi, is expected to be sworn in soon. All indications are that Free State Premier Ace Magashule is going to reshuffle his cabinet after Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Olly Mlameli was elected as the Executive Mayor of Mangaung Metro Municipality. With Phukuntsi to be sworn in as a member of legislature, Magashule will have to look inside the legislature when he appoints a new MEC. Opposition parties in the province supported the idea of a reshuffling and called for several MEC’s to be axed – Cathy Dlodlo
