Former Bloem paramedic found guilty of shoplifting


A former Bloemfontein paramedic, who was arrested earlier after medical supplies to the value of R100 000 were found in her possession, was found guilty on another charge of shoplifting in the regional court today.

Lelani Dry was found guilty after she stole food items to the value of R1300.44 on 13 August 2015. She was handed a five-year suspended sentence and fined R1500.

Dry, a former employee of Netcare911, face separate charges of the possession of stolen goods and illegal ammunition.

Strong medication, equipment and other consumables used by mobile emergency services were found in her Universitas house just after she was arrested for shoplifting.
